12. ENVIRONMENTAL DRILLINGS

The greater  importance of environment preservation and its related studies of contaminated and polluted sites has remarkably increased the interest in environmental drillings  supplying fundamental information about status and causes of the environment pollution.
Current laws have established the actions to be performed in the areas potentially contaminated by developing  3 phases decontamination projects:
•    site description plan;
•    preliminary plan;
•    final plan.
The first phase is performed by continuous core boring, soil and water sampling, setting of piezometers, load bearing and waterproof tests.
Successive phases are the drawing and the implementation of the descriptive plans pursuant to the current laws, the elaboration of conceptual models, studies about their planning and feasibility.
